Snagged on eBay: 1957 edition of On The Road

I just found out I was high bidder on a 1957 (the original publication year) paperback edition of On The Road. Here's a picture:

Pretty cool. I know - it's just a "thing." Nevertheless, it's pretty damn cool.

Very cool. There's a great picture of Jack on the back of the 40th anniversary hardcover of him opening up a box of the first copy of On the Road and holding the book in his hand for the first time. Must have been a moment of sweet vindication after all those years of struggling to get it out there. Even with all the edits.

Thanks. I'm gonna check out that pic. I can (sort of) relate to the feeling he was experiencing.

Congratulations!:) I'm curious what you will find in the book (notes of a previous owner, maybe a lost theatre ticket...). With a book like "On the road" I always love the hidden treasures it gathers from being on the road and having changed hands countless times before ending up in mine. Enjoy it!

Jess, we agree. I will report what I find here at The Daily Beat!
