Click here for details about actress Kristin Stewart joining the cast of the upcoming movie version of On The Road. She is slated to play Marylou. All signs point to filming to begin - FINALLY! - this summer. W00t!
sam riley played doomed joy division singer ian curtis in the aforementioned movie, control. i can get behind him as sal/jack. he also has that dark brooding thing or whatever going on. having not seen either twilight or the new runaways movie, i am unfamilar with ms. stewart's work. at least we're getting a cast together! how about james franco reprising his role as dear carlo marx?
I can live with James Franco as Carlo, and, while I didn't see control, Riley looks the part from what I can see. I can see Kristen Stewart as Marylou, too. The big thing is going to be converting the novel to film. What a challenge. But there are enough scenes, for sure, and there's enough narrative. I think it's possible to create a pretty damn good movie!

when I googled it... it appears that perhaps Sam Riley, who was in a movie called Control that I have never seen may be Keruoac's Sal Paradise.
I am not sure how I feel about Kristen Stewart being in the movie at all. In general, I dislike her performances.
But fingers crossed that movie is made and made well, because it's one of my all-time favorite books! =)
